As we welcome in this new year, we close our doors for good. The deadbolt has been thrown, we have turned over our keys to the building owner, and are settling into our new life. When Richard came back from Vietnam and the Marines and announced he wanted to open a store downtown, people told him he was crazy - and in 1969, he was! But you stuck with him and us and created a reason to make his dream a reality. Thank you for making our retirement sale such a success. We were truly Blessed by All our customers and people who stopped by the store to share their memories and say their goodbyes. We will miss you all as well as the store, the buildings, the businesses, and the spaces we have created during these 51 years in Downtown Durham & even beyond. Every New Year comes with resolutions. This year differs from those of the past. This year, we resolve to rest, rebound, and retire. We are thankful to all of you for your patronage, loyalty, and love through our 51 years of bringing this community a place to gather, celebrate, and delight in our shop.
Special thanks to our past and present employees, many of whom have spent decades in the store with us, you are all family. Thank you for sharing your many talents, charms, and opinions making the store such a welcoming, unique place.
And to our Family, thank you for working with us and supporting us with your energy, time, and love. From accounting, sales, climbing, & hiding around the stores as kids, to mini doughnut making!
We love you all!
Richard and Jacqueline Morgan
